I would’ve wanted to have my hair professionally done at the salon, but I second guessed myself. I wasn’t 100% sure if I really wanted a major hair color makeover. I didn’t want to spend more than a thousand pesos on a hair treatment that I will regret later on, so I did it myself!
Here’s how my hair color looked before. It’s actually black-brown, but indoors, it looks jet black. When I was younger, my mom would always tell me that my dark hair makes me look old, and then I would tease her that I would dye my hair blonde and then she’d give me that hawk’s eye look. What do you want, mom? LOL! Maybe that’s also the reason why I never submitted to dyeing my hair early.
Hortaleza Professional – Light Ash Brown
I went to HBC to buy a DIY hair color treatment from Hortaleza Professional (My mom swears by this product). Forgot to take a photo of it because I was too excited, but here’s what it looks like.
The shade I went for was Light Ash Brown. The swatch at the store looked too blonde, but I thought since I have very dark hair, it wouldn’t turn out as blonde as compared to someone with really light hair to begin with.
Here’s the result:
I was expecting it to turn into light/honey brown, but it ended up copper more than anything. It even looks red in certain lighting like this photo below which I took inside a car, at around 11 o’clock in the morning.
|Excuse the quality. Took this using a smartphone.|
At first, I thought it was weird, but I realized it’s just me trying to adjust to my new look. I do think it’s gorgeous, but I’m not fond of the color. I might commit to a professional hair color treatment session next time to get the exact color that I want.
Commment down below if you want a step-by-step guide on how to dye your hair using Hortaleza Professional.
And that’s just it for now. Hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening wherever you are in the world! =)
