Emerald Green for a Radiant 2013

It’s technically the first working day of the year, yet here I am enjoying the remaining days of my two-week holiday break. I haven’t made any New Year’s resolution and I am not planning to. But I did set a few personal goals, and one of them is to give more attention to my so-called “blogging career”. Let me start off by saying that I have decided to shift (yet again) from Beauty Blogging to Personal Lifestyle Blogging. You see, beauty blogging is something that I really love, but at the same time, focusing my posts to this topic alone limits me to share the other aspects of my life. Of course, I could easily create another blog, but that would be such a hassle. From this day on, expect to read a variety of topics from beauty, events, travels, and  occasional rants. I’m still keeping Sugar Foodie and Davao Journal though, as these two deserve a sanctuary of their own. So there. I hope you’ll embrace this change and won’t leave me, dear readers. =)

Anyway, I bet there’s no better way to start off this year’s blogging journey than to feature Pantone’s chosen color for the year 2013; Emerald Green. I’m not really big on greens, but don’t you think Emerald is such a gorgeous and lovely color?  I like this shade of green as it’s not too bright, nor too dark. Plus, it exudes serenity, balance and harmony that magnets all the positivite energy. It’s refreshing to the eyes, too. It’s a very optimistic color and do I hope it brings all the positive vibes to my life throughout the year.

“Lively. Radiant. Lush… A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of
well-being, balance and harmony.” – Pantone

I actually wanted to wear something emerald during the media noche, but I couldn’t find a nice top bearing the color. I settled for painting my nails with an emerald lacquer instead.

I would’ve gone for a plain emerald green, but I thought hey? It’s new year after all. I wanted to welcome 2013 with high spirits, and glitters are the way to go. I used this glittery emerald green nail lacquer that I bought for only 18php. To make it extra lively, I used Bobbie’s The Big Bang (red, blue, gold circles). I may not have witnessed fireworks during the new year (it’s been banned from our city for over a decade now), but at least my glamorous nails brought sparkles to our home that night.

Before I end this post, here are some interesting facts that you might want to know about Emerald Green (facts from Wikipedia)
